Submissions
Every writer whose work appears on the Irish Literary Revival will have a dedicated entry on which there is a biography, a photograph and book cover images, if supplied, links to the work and other links of direct interest. Each entry will have a Creative Commons logo and link to the full licence.
Submission Guidelines for Authors and Publishers
Before submitting your book, please read the following criteria for inclusion. Books must be:
– Out of print, or currently undistributed, in which case an agreement with the publisher is required.
– Previously published by a reputable Irish publisher or written by an Irish writer and published elsewhere.
– Written in Irish or English.
– Protected by a Creative Commons License (we will insert the neccessary code).
– Accompanied by a statement from the author and/or publisher allowing the material to be presented here.
What to send
We accept fiction, non-fiction, poetry and drama. Screenplays are not accepted unless they have been published in book form.
Previously unpublished work is not eligible
Books must have an ISBN unless published prior to 1985 and of recognized literary merit.
Please remember to send all information on copyright page.
Format
We will accept texts in formats such as Word, Appleworks, Rich Text, Open Office and so on. Hard copies are not accepted. PDFs are also welcome provided they contain the relevant Creative Commons Licence notice, although it may be simpler if we create the PDF for you and include the Creative Commons notice. A note about scanning…
In speaking with writers we’ve realised that we should have been more specific with regard to scanning.
While most scanners come with Optical Character Recognition software (to turn the image of the text into editable text such as in Microsoft Word, or plain text), some writers may not be aware of this and may simply scan their text as images, the accumulated size of which makes hosting impractical.
We would be grateful if you were aware of this when setting out to scan your work, and apologise for any confusion.
You’ll find more information about OCR at Wikipedia
