Biographical Note

Noel Duffy was born in Dublin in 1971 and studied Experimental Physics at Trinity College, Dublin, before working for Poetry Ireland where he co-edited with Theo Dorgan Watching the River Flow: A Century in Irish Poetry (Poetry Ireland, 1999).

His poems have been broadcast on local and national radio and have appeared in the anthologies Slow Time: 100 Poem to Take You There (Marino Press, 2000) and the Open Door Book of Poetry (New Island, 2005) both edited by Niall MacMonagle. He was the winner of the 1999 Fingal Scribe Poetry Competition, The Firewords Poetry Award in 2005 and the Universe Poetry Competition in the same year.

The Silence After was the winning collection in the START Chapbook Prize (2003).
